Terms of service
These terms apply to Hammer History, a website of Sterk Solutions B.V.. They say what the site is, what you buy on it and what we both may expect. Last changed 14 October 2026.
1. What the site is
Hammer History records the hammer prices of used machinery sold at auction, read from the results the auction houses published, and keeps every sale of one model together. It is a record of what machines fetched, not a valuation and not advice. We do not sell machines, we are not an auction house and we are not party to any sale the site reports.
2. Your account
You need an account to open a price. An account is for one person or one business; keep the login to yourself. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we tell you why.
3. What you can buy
One sale is the hammer price of one closed lot, with the lot number, the town, the auction house and the link to the listing. It stays open to your account for as long as the site exists. A model for a year is every recorded sale of one catalogue model and every sale of it that closes in the year after you opened it. A subscription is every price on the site while it runs, paid by the month or by the year; it renews until you cancel it and runs to the end of the period you paid. The prices are on the pricing page, in euro and excluding VAT, and the checkout shows the total before you pay.
4. Payment and our reseller
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle charges you, adds the VAT or sales tax of your country, issues the invoice and takes the payment through your card or the other means it offers; Paddle's buyer terms apply to the payment itself. Your card statement will say Paddle.
5. Refunds and cancelling
What you open is delivered at once. By opening a price you ask us to deliver it right away and agree that the right to withdraw within 14 days ends once it is delivered. We refund anyway where the data was not what the page promised, and a renewal you did not want; the refund policy says how. A subscription is cancelled on your profile, through Paddle, at any time.
6. What you may do with the data
The prices are for your own use, or your business's, in buying, selling, valuing and appraising machinery. You may not copy the site's data in bulk, scrape it, resell it, publish it or feed it into a product of your own, and you may not read the site with automated tools. An account that does so is closed without a refund.
7. How far we stand behind the data
A price is what the auction house published; we do not change it. Matching a lot to a model is done by software and can be wrong, which is why every sale links to the lot it came from. Tell us about an error and we correct it. We are not liable for a decision you take on the data, beyond what the law does not let us exclude, and our liability to you is in any case limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Changes
We change the site as we go, and now and then these terms. A change to the terms is announced on the site; if you do not accept it, you stop using the site, and a running subscription ends at the end of the period you paid.
9. Law
Dutch law applies, and a dispute goes to the courts of the Netherlands. A consumer in the European Union keeps the protection of the law of their own country and may also use the European dispute resolution platform.
